The Art of Date Mylk: 5 Delicious Ways to Enjoy It

Real ingredients. Natural sweetness. Endless possibilities.

Some combinations just make sense. Dates and milk are one of them.

At rawa, we believe good food doesn't need complicated ingredients. Sometimes, the simplest combinations are the most satisfying.

Our Date Mylk brings together four simple ingredients: almonds or coconut, water, Medjool dates, and a pinch of sea salt.

No additives. No preservatives. Just real ingredients, freshly made to order.

And while enjoying a chilled glass is always a good idea, there's so much more you can do with it.

Here are five easy ways to bring rawa Date Mylk into your everyday kitchen.

Meet your Date Mylk

We make two delicious varieties:

Almond Date Mylk

A delicate nutty flavour with the natural sweetness of Medjool dates. A lovely choice for smoothies, breakfast bowls, coffee and homemade desserts.

Coconut Date Mylk

A naturally tropical flavour that pairs beautifully with cinnamon, bananas, oats and rice-based desserts.

Both are made with the same simple philosophy: real ingredients, nothing unnecessary.

Available in two sizes:

  • 300 ml – perfect for trying something new or enjoying on the go.

  • 1 litre – for your everyday kitchen creations.

1. Keep it simple: A glass of Date Mylk

Sometimes, the best recipe is no recipe at all.

Pour yourself a chilled glass of Date Mylk, give the bottle a gentle shake, and enjoy.

Want to make it a little more interesting?

  • Add a pinch of cinnamon.

  • Sprinkle a little freshly grated nutmeg.

  • Pair it with a handful of almonds or your favourite granola bar.

Simple, delicious, and ready in seconds.

2. Banana & Cinnamon Date Smoothie

A creamy, naturally sweet smoothie that makes a lovely breakfast or afternoon snack.

Preparation: 5 minutes
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250 ml) rawa Date Mylk

  • 1 ripe banana

  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • A pinch of cardamom (optional)

Method

  1. Peel and slice the banana.

  2. Add all ingredients to a blender.

  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  4. Pour into a glass and finish with a little cinnamon.

Make it your own: Add a spoonful of peanut butter for a richer flavour, or a handful of oats for a thicker smoothie.

Which variety should you use? Both work beautifully. Almond gives you a nutty finish, while coconut adds a tropical touch.

3. Overnight Oats with Date Mylk

A little preparation the night before can make your mornings much easier.

No cooking, no complicated ingredients, and plenty of room to experiment.

Preparation: 5 minutes + overnight refrigeration
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • ¾ cup (180 ml) rawa Date Mylk

  • ½ banana, sliced

  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

  • A few crushed almonds or walnuts (optional)

Method

  1. Place the oats in a jar or bowl.

  2. Pour in the Date Mylk and add cinnamon.

  3. Stir well, cover, and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours.

  4. In the morning, give everything a good stir.

  5. Top with banana and crushed nuts.

Our tip: If you prefer a thinner consistency, simply add a little more Date Mylk in the morning.

Try almond Date Mylk for a nutty breakfast or coconut Date Mylk for a tropical twist.

4. A Warm Date & Cinnamon Drink

Not every milk drink needs to be served cold.

This simple combination is inspired by traditional warming drinks and is lovely for a quiet evening or a slower morning.

Preparation: 5 minutes
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250 ml) rawa Date Mylk

  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

  • A tiny pinch of ground ginger (optional)

  • A pinch of cardamom (optional)

Method

  1. Pour the Date Mylk into a small saucepan.

  2. Add the cinnamon and optional spices.

  3. Warm gently over low heat, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove from the heat once warm. Avoid boiling.

  5. Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy.

A little food wisdom: Cinnamon, ginger and cardamom have long been used in traditional food cultures for their warming aromatic qualities. Their flavours pair beautifully with dates.

5. Egyptian-Style Rice Pudding with Date Mylk

A familiar favourite with a new twist.

Rice pudding is a much-loved dessert in Egyptian homes. Using Date Mylk instead of conventional milk brings a lovely date flavour and natural sweetness to this comforting dish.

Preparation: 35–45 minutes
Servings: 3–4

Ingredients

  • ½ cup short-grain rice

  • 2 cups water

  • 2 cups rawa Date Mylk

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon cornflour (optional, for extra thickness)

  • Crushed nuts for serving (optional)

Method

  1. Wash the rice and place it in a saucepan with the water.

  2. Cook over medium-low heat until the rice is soft and most of the water has been absorbed.

  3. Add the Date Mylk and stir gently.

  4. Continue cooking over low heat for around 15–20 minutes, stirring regularly.

  5. Add the vanilla and cinnamon.

  6. For a thicker pudding, dissolve the cornflour in a little cold water, add it to the saucepan, and stir until thickened.

  7. Serve warm or refrigerate until chilled.

Our tip: Taste before adding any extra sweetener. Medjool dates already bring natural sweetness to the recipe.
